There is a lot of wrong with EVERYTHING here, but I like my line-work.
The hands will be covered with foam BTW, that’s why I decided to go the “hehe, this makes no fucking sense” way.
This is the rough-animation linetest for scene 4 in my film. Enjoy.
ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Lip sync and acting.
It’s not what I wish it was, but I learned a lot from it. I’ll apply this knowledge on my final film (which I start working on Monday… TERROR!!)
ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Noodle
The focus for this assignment was, if I’m not entirely mistaken, to focus on acting and interacting with the background. I think we can all agree that I failed a little bit at both. This could have turned out much, MUCH better if I had used the two weeks we were given, instead of doing everything in two days. (I just HATED this assignment*. HATED it…. HATE IT. PRESENT TENSE).
Most people have gone apeshit with this assignment, making Noodle jump through the entire room, crash against walls, die, etc. I just… I’m not into that level of extreme zaniness for the sake of crazy. Gags, I take them way too seriously.
* It’s not so much that it was difficult, it’s just that I really don’t like the character >:(
FX ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Water Bucket.
There’s a lot of wrong with this, but I’m going to pretend it’s done, because I just don’t want to deal with it anymore (I’m actually a huge cry-baby, because I didn’t even put 8 hours into this). I will admit, though, that it was fun pretending I was waterbending :P
ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Dumpo, the Magician.
The focus of this assignment was acting. We were supposed to do all sorts of strong poses and stuff.
The animation on the first 3/4s is terrible because I had things to deal with at home, commissions, COMMUNITY fanarts, and general procrastination habits. However, by the end I feel like I actually learned something. So… not everything was lost?
FX ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Pixie Dust
ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Silhouette.
The purpose of this assignment was for us to make a gag in 96 frames (4 seconds) and only use silhouettes.
ANIMATION ASSIGNMENT: Weight Lifting.
Engelen’s come-back!!
I’m the worst at time management. I also seem to have forgotten how to animate, which is why almost everything was done straight-ahead (NEVER do that. EVER). Before I knew it, everything I was doing was a new pose and a new “key” or a break down. I hate the timing, and I shouldn’t have added all those staggers at the beginning. STUPID! Let this be a lesson for me: Always plan ahead, and first get done what needs to get done.
I repeat: I’m the worst. But at least it seems like I FINALLY grasped what an over-shoot is (4 months after we were supposed to have learned that concept).

Look, I never said I was any good at full-body rotations. #CharacterDesignFAIL
Two silly things I did for Ask Jeff
I know the timing on the second one is awful but, WHAT THE HELL, TIMING ON PHOTOSHOP IS HORRIBLE D: !!
SPECIAL EFFECTS IN-CLASS ASSIGNMENT: Bubbles.
Why am I so bad at special effects? D:
SPECIAL EFFECTS ASSIGNMENT: Explosion
It’s awful. In my mind, this is the scientist whose lab is under a bridge.
